There continue to be thefts of purses / valuables from the parking lots of leash-free areas (especially Jack Darling). So, please spread the word and lock valuables in the trunk. We have alerted the police and Corporate Security and they have stepped up surveillance. We think the thief may be driving a pick up truck without a front licence, so if you spot this vehicle, please let the police know.

COYOTE UPDATE
Coyotes have been spotted in the woods behind the Petro Canada site leash-free. Please be careful, especially with small dogs, after dark. If you would like more information on coyotes please click here to visit the City of Mississauga Animal Services coyote page.

Lakeside Park Closure
Lakeside Park is now closed for construction. A temporary site has been set up at the Petro Canada ball park which is just north of Sheridan Nurseries (west side of road, almost across from Orr Road). So far, the dogs are enjoying the new smells and the fact that there is actually grass on the ground! The facility will be availiable for use until the permanent facility at Lakeside Park is completed. Upon completion of the permanent facility at Lakeside Park, the temporary facility at Petro Canada Park will be removed and the use of the park will revert back to its present baseball diamond use.

ALL JACK DARLING PARK USERS!

The City has received a compliant through the councillor's office indicating that dogs are off leash and running at large outside the approved leash free zone. As a result of this concern Animal Services will notified and asked to attend and monitor the area. Charges will be laid to offenders with dogs off leash outside the approved leash free zone including walking from the parking lot(s) to the leash free zone.
