Twenty-four dogs and owners took part in the festivities. While the owners shared hot chocolate and warm seasons greetings, the dogs frolicked on the icy terrain. A gift of appreciation was made to John Glass of Ontario Clean Water (Streetsville Pumping Station) for the ongoing support of he and his staff throughout the year. After the traditional reading of the poem, "A Visit from Kris Kringle", the time had arrived for the gift exchange. The owners had previously drawn names and each dog was rewarded for being good with a special gift bag. A raffle draw was made and the proceeds were donated to the Mississauga Animal Serrvices SCARF fund (Special Care for Animals and Resources Fund). This fund provides a wealth of services for animals in their shelter. Everything from specialized diets, medications, and spay/neutre surgery for animals awaiting adoption are provided with funds from SCARF. Treats bags were handed out as the day drew to a close.
